We encourage all children to take pride in their appearance and expect all children to wear the school’s uniform.
The school uniform creates a sense of belonging for our children. It promotes a sense of pride and self-confidence and studies have shown that it contributes to children’s wellbeing, as it removes the pressure of deciding what to wear and of meeting the expectations of what their peers are wearing. Having consistent uniform is something that creates a sense of identity across the school and provides a sense of community amongst the children and further develops their understanding of the learning journey across their time at Albemarle.
Our current uniform includes
All children in Key Stage 2 (Upper School) should have a junior backpack. Children in Nursery, Reception and Key Stage 1 (Lower School) should have a book bag (available from school).
We also expect that long hair (below shoulders) is tied up, and that the only jewellery worn in school is stud earrings. Albemarle school coats are optional.
